Out in West Texas

College: College of Arts and Sciences

Majors: Philosophy

During the summer of 2011 from July to August, I was able to take on an internship at the 143rd District Attorney's Office with Randy Reynolds. I was able to experience a little bit of everything during my internship: I learned about the procedures that the public notary's had to follow for their work and actually was allowed to help them with certain duties. Another experience that I enjoyed while interning there was the time I spent with the private investigators. I learned about the work that they do and I was also able to pick up a few interrogating techniques along the way. To top it all off, I was allowed to attend all court sessions with the DA and learned more about the legal process with Randy.

The greatest thing about my summer internship was that I was able to secure a full-time job at the DA's office after graduating (December 2011) while I wait to hear back from the laws schools that I applied to for Fall 2012.
