Internships & Cooperative Education

In spring of 2011 I did an internship in Frankfurt Germany for Ernst & Young GmbH. I had the time of my life experiencing European cultures and gaining real life experience in the area of my major. I was able to apply my MSc. Taxation studies to my work, and I gained firsthand knowledge of expat taxation, partnership taxation, and IRS correspondence. My German language skills greatly improved and the work environment helped me gain new friends and business contacts. One of the highlights of my internship was when I joined the E&Y basketball team to compete in the Frankfurt Company Cup. The team included men and women partners, managers, associates, and one intern, me. After weeks of practice we played against other firms such as Lufthansa and Proctor and Gamble at the Deutsche Bank Skyliner stadium. I had a tremendous experience, and I have the University of North Texas to thank for giving me such an opportunity.
